THE LINGUISTIC EDGE The Linguistic Edge is a language consultancy specializing in editing, publication management, and pronunciation issues. We are a “boutique” firm with low overhead and high-quality results. When appropriate, we partner with other high-quality professionals to bring full-service capability to our clients. Dr. Taguchi’s interest in language started young. As the daughter of foreign-born parents—her mother from Hungary, and her father from Germany—she was often asked as a child about their accents. Her early curiosity about language grew, ultimately leading to a Ph.D. in linguistics. Dr. Taguchi enjoys language-related pursuits, giving her an extensive range of professional experience, from editing a wide variety of publications, to writing several books, to coaching speakers of over 30 different languages in American English pronunciation. She also produces and directs recording sessions for educational products, specializing in phonics instruction. Dr. Taguchi’s considerable experience in the editing and publishing fields includes 15 years in educational publishing, where she has produced and edited award-winning, nationally branded products. She is available for consulting on K–5 educational products, as well as producing, writing, and editing products, books, and other publications on a contract basis. Dr. Taguchi is married to a native Japanese speaker. They live in southern California, where they enjoy gardening and eating sushi.
