M. Taguchi, Ph.D. Dr. Taguchi’s interest in language started young. As the daughter of foreign-born parents—her mother from Hungary, and her father from Germany—she was often asked as a child about their accents. Her early curiosity about language grew, ultimately leading to a Ph.D. in linguistics. Language-related pursuits have given Dr. Taguchi an extensive range of professional experience, from editing a wide variety of publications, to writing several books, to coaching speakers of over 30 different languages in American English pronunciation. She also produces and directs recording sessions for educational products. Specializing in educational publishing for almost 20 years, Dr. Taguchi has produced and edited many award-winning, nationally branded products. She consults on K–5 educational products, as well as produces, writes, and edits products, books, and other publications on a contract basis. Dr. Taguchi is married to a native Japanese speaker. They live in southern California, where they enjoy gardening and eating sushi.
